Photons to Photos #39

In Photons to Photos # 39 Ron will work up a natural-colour image of the Crescent and Soap Bubble Nebulae in Cygnus. He is using more than 42 hours of broadband and narrowband one-shot color data collected by himself and Steve Barnes, using very different setups. This object is well placed for imaging throughout summer in the northern hemisphere. Ron's data was acquired in June and July 2026 from his home observatory, about a 2 hour drive north of Buffalo, NY. Steve’s data was captured in from his home not far from Detroit, MI.

This workshop continues our very popular “Photons to Photos” series, where Warren or Ron demonstrates a complete workflow from beginning to end. The other instructor will monitor the chat box and answer questions on-the-fly. This allows participants to see the entire post-processing workflow from beginning to end, learning how Ron and Warren use various processes, scripts, masks and settings in context.
